The Edinburgh International Festival is the first summer festival to announce its full 2016 programme, writes Rhys Fullerton.
Broughton-based shows are all at the Edinburgh Playhouse, and one of the highlights is a two-night residency for the Icelandic post-rock band Sigur Rós.
Other highlights include Monumental, where contemporary dance company The Holy Body Tattoo perform with the elusive Montreal art-rock collective Godspeed You! Black Emperor.
Glasgow band Mogwai and the ever-impressive filmmaker Mark Cousins will debut their show Storyville: Atomic – Living in Dread and Promise. It promises to be an epic, live-concert and film experience.
