Police seek witnesses following a serious assault on Broughton Road at the weekend.
A 31-year-old woman was attacked at around 1.30am on Sunday morning. After leaving the Taxi Club on Beaverhall Road, she intervened in an effort to calm an argument between a man and a woman outside.
As she walked towards Broughton Road, the man struck her twice in the face, causing ’serious injury to her jaw and teeth’. He afterwards made off towards McDonald Road.
The man is described as white, aged 20–40 years old, 5ft 8” tall with a stocky build and short brown hair. He spoke with a local accent and was wearing a grey long-sleeved top and blue jeans.
Police are now conducting enquiries locally and ask anyone who recognises the description above – or has other relevant information – to contact them at once.
