Traffic disruption may continue around Bellevue until 14 February (and possibly longer) as work continues to widen pavements and install a new Puffin crossing.
Traffic lights will be in place on Sunday 30 January and 6 February, from 9:00am–5:00pm.
Loading and unloading restrictions will apply (on both sides of the road unless otherwise stated) at: Bellevue, from Mansfield Place to Rodney Street; Bellevue to 10, East Claremont Street; Bellevue Place (south side) to 15 Bellevue Place; Bellevue Crescent from south junction with Bellevue to 3 Bellevue Crescent; Bellevue Crescent from junction with Cornwallis Place to 26 Bellevue Crescent. If necessary, these restrictions may last until 25 March.
Spurtle thinks temporary inconvenience is a price worth paying. The new crossing will be an important and long-needed link between Claremont and the New Town, particularly for children travelling to school or visiting King George V Park.
