Distribution will mostly begin tomorrow, but may not be complete until early next week due to weekend and May Day bank holiday arrangements.

We have a really quite astonishing exclusive on page 1 involving City of Edinburgh Council, bargain basements and best value. We have advice on keeping warm from one who gnaws, and the latest on local resistance to a proposed development ‘too tall, too dense and too unaffordable’ deep in the heart of Bellevue.

Page 2 includes items on parallelograms and lowering the tone, a mysterious non-appearance, crime (or the lack of it), bright money-saving ideas, and a case of near meltdown caused in diplomatic parlance by an excess of central heating.
Page 3 features breasts, a book-end, and a cat-friendly conversion on Dundas Street. Jaundiced of Claremont unhelpfully pours paraffin onto Spurtle’s already smouldering election coverage by being equally horrid about everyone who appeared in our recent Scottish Parliamentary hustings.
We conclude on page 4 with a list of holes, mud and disruptions, and a surprisingly positive story about HGVs behaving better. Not to mention a bevvy of beautiful new adverts flourishing like freshly laid grass in St Andrew Square.
