LIDL SIGNS AND VARIOUSLY SIZED ADVERTISEMENTS

Submitted by Editor on

Lidl seek permission for a small constellation of signs.

To be precise, they want five internally illuminated fascia displays attached to the building cladding, and one free-standing stainless steel illuminated poster display unit, at the rapidly developing 17 Logie Green Road (Ref. 15/00706/ADV).

Robertson Lindsay Ltd seek permission for two non-illuminated, traditionally painted signs on their newly acquired premises at 7 Dundonald Street (Ref. 15/00658/ADV), just around the corner from the Cumberland Bar.

They will run an interior design studio here soon, and are happy to retain the current shade of grey on the exterior.

Permission has been granted to mount a temporary illuminated advertisement on 120 sq.m scaffold netting outside 1–3 Baxter’s Place (Ref. 15/00252/ADV).

Here’s roughly what it will look like. Revenues generated will go to offset the cost of the scaffolding.

The netting will also include a 1:1 image of the Category A building behind it during refurbishment.

Planning officials considered the advert would have no detrimental effect, and granted permission on condition that no moving images would be used, the level of lighting could be adjusted if necessary, and that web addresses and telephone numbers would be avoided.
