Duddingston House Properties LLD has launched an appeal against City of Edinburgh Council’s recent decision on the old Royal High School (Breaking news, 17.12.15).
This was the last day possible (17 March) for DHP to make such a move.
No Scottish Government reporter has been appointed yet and there is precious little detail at this stage.
However, you can find out more in due course by following this link to reference number PPA-230-2178.
It is not clear now – to Spurtle at least – whether DHP has new evidence to submit, or rather if they seek a thorough review of the decision-making process so far.
We’ll update you as soon as the fog clears.

Well well well. The inevitable appeal has finally been lodged.
Why would you leave it so long, before appealing?
@allytibbitt @theSpurtle Presumably, it means a decision after 5 May, which appellant might feel beneficial.
@theSpurtle never give up these folk!
@HeusdenTaco Good morning, Taco. Can you please explain timing of the appeal? Is it, as some suggest, to avoid becoming an election issue?
Surprise, surprise. Waste of public money and effort.
Dominic Berry What a magnificent building. Parliament? Yes. Art gallery? Yes. Museum? Yes. Concert hall? Yes. School? Yes. Hotel? NO!!
