VIEWS SOUGHT FROM LGBT OLDER PEOPLE

Submitted by Editor on

The LGBT Centre for Health and Wellbeing is to hold a public meeting later this month on services for older lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender people in Edinburgh.

The idea is to introduce, discuss and respond to an important consultation being undertaken by City of Edinburgh Council for its Joint Commissioning Plan for Older People 2012–13.

The CEC exercise – running from now until December in conjunction with NHS Lothian, Scottish Care and the Edinburgh Voluntary Organisations Council (EVOC) –  seeks to understand what services local government should be commissioning for older people during the next decade.

This particular public meeting obviously seeks to address the issues from an LGBT perspective. Older LGBT people are welcome, but so too are their friends, relatives and those who have caring responsibilities for them.

The event will be held from 5–8pm on Friday 23 November at 40 Commercial Street, Edinburgh EH6 6JD.
