ASSAULT IN LEITH STREET

POLICE APPEAL FOR WITNESSES AND INFORMATION

Police Scotland issued a press release today which we reproduce below unedited and in full.

Detectives in Edinburgh are appealing for information following the serious assault of a man in Leith Street.

The assault took place around 7.45 pm on Thursday, 29 December 2022, at a bus stop outside the Omni Centre.

PROGRESS ON St MARY'S MUSIC SCHOOL

The Royal High School Preservation Trust’s revised proposals to form new premises for St Mary’s Music School at the old Royal High School on Regent Rd were approved today (22/02449/FUL).

The plans entail demolition of later ancillary buildings, new residential and practice facilities, a landscaped public garden, and a new basement under the Main Hall for foyer and associated works.

Stitch is 1.5 years old and for the first time has gone missing from his home garden in Claremont Bank. Last seen at 4.30pm on Tuesday 6 December.

He’s a friendly soul:—a mostly white Ragdoll with a black face. He has been chipped.

RESEARCHER SEEKS EDINBURGH CONNECTIONS

It’s now 14 years since the death of one of Spurtleshire’s most esteemed residents, the political theorist and essayist Bernard Crick.

Best known for his biography of George Orwell and the classic In Defence of Politics, Crick moved to Edinburgh in 1984, living in a book-stuffed basement flat at 8a Bellevue Terrace.
